    IM SOWEEE!

Posted by tootzirollz at 02:22 PM on July 4, 2005 in PILIPINAS NGAYON.

    Mga Minamahal kong Kababayan,

For the last several weeks, the issue of the tape recordings has spun
out of control. Tonight, I want to set the record straight. You
deserve an explanation; from me, because you are the people I was
    elected to serve.

As you recall, the election canvassing process was unnecessarily slow
even after the election results were already in and the votes had
    been counted.

I was anxious to protect my votes and during that time had
conversations with many people, including a Comelec official. My
intent was not to influence the outcome of the election, and it did
not. As I mentioned, the election had already been decided and the
    votes counted.

And as you remember, the outcome had been predicted by every major
public opinion poll, and adjudged free, fair and decisive by
international election observers, and our own Namfrel.

That said, let me tell you how I personally feel, I recognize that
making any such call was a lapse in judgment. I'm sorry. I also
regret taking so long to speak before you on this matter. I take full
responsibility for my actions and to you and to all those good
citizens who may have had their faith shaken by these events. I want
to assure you that I have redoubled my efforts to serve the nation
    and earn your trust.

    inyong tiwala.

I took office with a mandate to carry out a plan for the nation.
Since that time, I have focused on making the tough but necessary
decisions to make up for years of economic neglect. We passed a
comprehensive fiscally responsible national budget; raised new and
necessary revenues to reinvest in the people; and implemented new
anti-corruption measures that have led to the highest collection of
    taxes in history.

Nothing should stand in the way of this work, or the next phase of my
reform agenda, which includes new investments in education and social
services with our new revenues; and an expansion of our successful
    anti-corruption and lifestyle checks.

That is why I want to close this chapter and move on with the
    business of governing.

I ask each and every one of you to join hands with me in a show of
unity, to help forge One Philippines, where everyone is equal under
the law, and where everyone has the opportunity to use their God-
given talents to make a better life.

Our nation is strong and getting stronger. The progress is steady and
I ask you to walk with me on this journey to rebuild our great
nation. I remain your humble servant and promise you that I will
fulfill my constitutional oath of office to serve the people to the
    best of my ability.

    God Bless the Philippines.

    The ‘what then?’ test

    The Philippine Star 07/05/2005

Riches are not forever. – Proverbs 6:19-24

From the 16th century comes a story of a probing conversation between an ambitious young man and a devout Christian named St. Philip Neri. The youth said to him excitedly, "My parents finally agreed to my studying law!" Philip asked simply, "What then?"

He replied, "Then I shall become a lawyer!" "And then?" pursued Philip. "Then I shall earn lots of money, buy a country house, get a carriage and horses, marry a beautiful woman, and lead a delightful life!" he responded.

Again Philip asked, "And then?" "Then . . ." The young man began reflecting for the first time on death and eternity. He realized that he had not acknowledged God in his plans and was building his life on temporal values.

The point of this story is not that riches are wrong. But if they become our central goal, we are ignoring eternity and trusting money, not God. Jesus said it’s impossible to love both money and God (Matthew 6:24), and He warned, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, . . . but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven" (vv. 19-20).

Young and old alike must make important life-plans. But let’s keep eternity in mind by always subjecting them to the "what then?" test. – Joanie Yoder

Shall the great Judge say, when my task is through,

That my soul had gathered some riches too?

Or shall at the last it be mine to find

That all I had worked for I had left behind?– Anon.

    Sana nga matuloy...

Posted by tootzirollz at 12:51 PM on July 8, 2005.

Praise God who gives us unexpected blessings, who surprises us with bonus blessings. Praise God who gives us blessings that truly satisfy us and gives us joy and peace. Amen.

I did not expect this to happen... And i could not ask for more. Although most of my plans for the next few months will be altered, I'm still very much thankful for this opportunity that God gave me. Whatever may happen matuloy man o hindi, I will be grateful to Him for this is His plan for me.

For He is FAIR and JUST.

"1 Thessalonians 5.18 says, "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

    Thoughts...Nonsense

Posted by tootzirollz at 12:43 PM on July 19, 2005.

what have i done so far... i feel that there is no significance with what i have done.. anybody can do that..// my  mistake is that i gave my trust to someone.. the next thing is to pack your bags and leave.. plans are plans.. what matters is you should take it one step at a time.. you should know your boundaries.. when to stop and when to go.. i think you should've stopped.. behind the dark clouds is the bright and clear sky.. either way this is goodbye.. these  are just my thoughts.. i have no idea what ia have written and it only makes sense to me.
